Usus Antiquior: A Theological Perspective on Church Music
Author: Nichols OP, Aidan

No explanation of why Fr. Alcuin Reid was replaced as editor; has his absence affected the quality of the journal and the number of subscriptions? I am among those who are boycotting...

I'm boycotting the journal too. As I understand it Lawrence Hemming wanted everything his way and as usual couldn't work with others as peers.

I wonder how long the journal can survive? Hemming lost a lot of the editorial board over this too. The Society of St Catherine of Siena website doesn't have any 'forthcoming events' either. What do they do nowdays?

It has affected the quality, certainly. The second issue has a 'filler' article, not about the liturgy but about the SSPX-Rome dialogue. The article is no great shakes academically. It also speaks of "a certain Monsignor Marcel Lefebvre, who had written to to Pope Paul VI as long ago as 18 November 1978..." Well, Dr Hemming may have missed the fact that Paul VI died in August 2008, but I'm sure Archbishop Lefebvre didn't. This is just shoddy. A jounal well worth bycotting if you ask me.
