Deeply saddened to learn of the death of my esteemed teacher Joseph Raz, Professor of Philosophy of Law at Oxford University and author of, among other important works, *Practical Reason and Norms* and *The Morality of Freedom*. Analytic philosophy has lost a giant.

Desperately sad news that Joseph Raz died in London this morning. He was a giant of philosophy. I will always feel deeply privileged that he was my teacher and friend. RIP.
