A Warranted Claim?

Public Orthodoxy: THE EUCHARIST, ITS PHYSICAL ELEMENTS, AND MOLECULAR BIOLOGY by Hermina Nedelescu

The second misconception is the idea that viruses themselves cannot be transmitted via the administration of Holy Communion, which is scientifically incorrect.

The moral and scientific considerations presented by the essay are fine, but where are the studies giving evidence to this claim? Making a definitive claim like this requires actual science, not guesswork. So where are the comparative studies, not with viruses in general but COVID-19 specifically? Otherwise this seems like overstating one's case in order to yield a desirable conclusion.

One can draw a probable conclusion or precept based on possibilities and our ignorance and the law of charity - those are sufficient.

The Historicity of the Old Testament

In particular, the book of Genesis.

Some have tried to nuance their interpretation of Genesis (in an attempt to reconcile it with "science," especially evolution) -- but if Christianity and Christian faith is grounded in a historical narrative, salvation history, i.e. what God has done for mankind, then how can one "mythologize" certain books without undermining Christian faith? Contrary to what some Roman Catholics think (perhaps subconsciously under the influence of some exaggerated form of scholasticism), Christianity is not a set of abstract theological propositions which do not need the background of a historical narrative; rather our knowledge of God is through His actions, especially those directed to mankind.

A Premature Defense?

Has evolution really been proven as fact?

In Defense of Thomistic Evolution: A Response to Chaberek by Nicanor Austriaco, O.P.

Why did God choose to work via an evolutionary process rather than will a special creation? Because it better reveals His glory and His power. Because it reveals better that He is God.

Let me guess, an atheist?

Daniel Whitmire

Newly discovered planet could destroy Earth any day now

How many of those who talk about natural disasters that could kill a significant portion or all of mankind believe that we are at the mercy of Mother Nature? Is Daniel Whitmire another chicken little who has no trust in God? Or someone trying to make a name for himself and grab funding?

Papal ...

Let us assume that he is not just flattering his audience; how is it possible to make scientific research possible to everyone, when they do not have the education to understand it? Don't we get enough popularized garbage already that promotes scientism and exalts the techno-elites?
